Rod DeGeorge
Biography:
Rod DeGeorge is a guitarist based out of Reading, PA. In addition to playing in the band Burnt Sienna, he writes and records his own solo instrumental guitar rock. His musical style draws from the instrumental guitar greats, like Steve Vai and Allan Holdsworth, but is also heavily shaped by classical music. Despite the classical influence, DeGeorge doesn't sound much like the neo-classical guitar notables Yngwie Malmsteen and Tony MacAlpine. Instead, DeGeorge's style is uniquely his own.
DeGeorge has recorded a number of demos of his instrumental material that can be found on his web site and MySpace page. The songwriting and performances on his demos are impressive and the production sounds better than many commercial releases. Rod will be going into the studio in 2007 to re-record his songs for his first official CD release. DeGeorge is endorsed by Gibson Guitars and Dunlop Guitar Accessories and continues to play live individually and with Burnt Sienna.
